Go to " Settings -> Account Info -> WeChat ID".

Here you can grant admin privileges to new users. Then scroll down the sidebar to " Settings -> Security Center -> Setting of Administrator and Operator".

No other way around it, and you have to scan the QR code with the WeChat account attached to that ID. If you have a business license, again, see the blue box above. It's covered in much greater detail by companies like WalkTheChat and ChinaChannel so maybe check those out.


That's a far more complicated process, involving business licenses, transactions sent to Tencent, phone calls, etc.

If you decide later that you'd like to be a company, you can technically upgrade your Subscription account to a Service account (though not vice versa). You can post every day, but it will end up in that "Subscription" folder on your main WeChat feed that fills you with dread every time you accidentally tap it. Shortcut to the end, choose Subscription account. Now you're faced with the big question Subscription or Service account? Nevermind WeChat at Work, it's basically a glorified company WeChat group. Location matters if you're registering with a company license, if you're just a random schmuck with things to say/sell (sans license) set it to Mainland China.

Hit "Register Now." Step 2: Input Basic InfoĮmail, verification code, password, confirm password. Do not go to, as channels created via that site are not visible in China. Set the language in the top-right corner to English, if it isn't already, and bookmark that page, because it's the portal you'll log into to manage your WeChat channel. Then go the WeChat Official Accounts Platform. Step 1: Register Nowįirst off, get off your phone and get on a computer, it's better. Or a business license, but that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish.
